Nigeria and Israel have agreed to deepen cooperation across multiple strategic sectors following a high-level meeting between Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu, and her Israeli counterpart, Sharren Miriam Haskel-Harpaz, in Abuja.
According to a statement by Ojukwu’s media aide, Magnus Eze, the discussions produced concrete agreements aimed at enhancing collaboration in security, counter-terrorism, intelligence sharing, and capacity building.
Israel signaled its readiness to expand trade with Nigeria, noting that the current $250 million trade volume holds significant potential for growth.
Both nations also resolved to establish a joint commission that will drive and strengthen partnerships in trade, agriculture, health, education, technology, and the entertainment/film industry.
Ojukwu and Haskel-Harpaz noted that the proposed joint commission represents a long-term, structured approach to unlocking the full potential of Nigeria–Israel relations, while addressing national priorities and contributing to global solutions.
