Crescent University, Abeokuta, has reinforced its reputation as one of Africa’s leading academic institutions after making a remarkable impact at the 7th International Research Conference of the Humanities, held at the University of Ghana, Accra.
Themed “Bridging Inequalities in a Changing World: Advancing Inclusive Growth, Resilience and Sustainable Natural Research Management,” the conference featured outstanding presentations from scholars in the university’s Departments of Mass Communication and Business Administration.

From the Mass Communication Department, Head of Department Dr. Kola Adesina and Dr. Oluwatoyin Salami delivered a paper on “Environmental Advocacy on Social Media: Examining the Role of Eco-influencers in Promoting Sustainable Lifestyles Among Nigerian Youths.” Dr. Adesina also joined Kunle Somorin and Kehinde Ademuyiwa in presenting another paper titled “New Media, New Inequalities: The Human Cost of Media Representation.”
In the Business Administration Department, Dr. Abideen Shodiya, Dr. Olajide Raji, Dr. Surajudeen Jolaosho and Ayodeji Olamide Ayoola presented research on “Sustainable Business Practices and Sustainable Performance among SMEs in Abeokuta Metropolis, Ogun State, Nigeria.”
Other notable contributors from the Mass Communication Department included Prof. Lukman Abioye, Omolara Idehenre, Olufunmilayo Thomas Kuye, Odenike Omolaso, Modupe Apanisile, and Morayo Ayoola, whose works were featured in the conference’s Book of Abstracts.
Upon receiving the delegation’s briefing, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila commended the team for their exceptional representation, noting that their research contributions significantly advance knowledge in Africa and beyond.
