Nigeria: Kaduna Police Restrict Movement in Four LGAs for Bye-Elections

The Kaduna State Police Command has announced movement restrictions in Sabon Gari, Zaria, Chikun, and Kajuru Local Government Areas ahead of the upcoming bye-elections on Saturday, August 16, 2025. The restrictions will take effect from 12 am on Saturday.

According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the measure aims to ensure public safety, prevent breaches of peace, and guarantee a smooth electoral process.

Only personnel on essential duties and those with valid election duties will be exempted from the restrictions.

The police urge residents to comply with the directive, conduct themselves peacefully, and cooperate with security agencies to ensure a hitch-free election.

The bye-elections will take place in Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Zaria Kewaye State Constituency, and Basawa State Constituency.
