Super Falcons defender Tosin Demehin has committed her future to Galatasaray, signing a contract extension with the Turkish women’s club after an outstanding debut season.

The 23-year-old Nigerian international joined Galatasaray in the summer of 2024 from French side Stade de Reims and quickly became a defensive mainstay. She featured in 26 matches across all competitions, scoring once and helping the Istanbul giants to a fourth-place finish in the Turkish Women’s Super League. Demehin also played a pivotal role as Galatasaray made their maiden appearance in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Her fine club form was mirrored on the international stage. Demehin was an ever-present for Nigeria at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, where the Super Falcons claimed a record-extending 10th title. On her tournament debut, she not only impressed defensively but also scored her first international goal in Nigeria’s emphatic 5-0 quarter-final victory over Zambia.

With her renewal, Demehin joins Victor Osimhen—who recently sealed a permanent move to Galatasaray’s men’s team—as one of only two Nigerians representing both sides of the historic club.
Galatasaray will be banking on Demehin’s consistency and leadership at the back as they aim to compete strongly in both domestic and continental competitions during the 2025/26 campaign.
