Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare from Belgian side Genk in a deal worth £24 million.

The 24-year-old, who stands at 6ft 6in, has signed a four-year contract at Molineux as Wolves look to strengthen their attack after a difficult start to the Premier League season. Gary O’Neil’s side sit bottom of the table, having lost their opening three matches.

Arokodare arrives on the back of an impressive campaign in Belgium, where he scored 21 goals to win the Pro League Golden Boot last season. He joins to provide attacking support for Norway forward Jørgen Strand Larsen, who recently attracted bids of £50m and £55m from Newcastle — both rejected by Wolves.
Since joining Genk in 2023 from Latvian club Valmiera, Arokodare scored 41 goals in 113 appearances. He has also featured briefly for the Nigerian national team, netting once in four caps.
The striker’s career began in Nigeria before moving to Valmiera in 2019, where he scored 22 goals in 34 games. He later had loan spells in Europe with FC Köln in the Bundesliga and Amiens in France, scoring 21 times across two seasons with the Ligue 2 side.
Arokodare has already played five matches for Genk this season, scoring once, before sealing his Premier League move.
