Veteran Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta is grieving the loss of his son, whom he announced had passed away in a heartfelt Instagram post on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
Sharing a photo of the late boy, Chatta wrote, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear son, champ.” The actor didn’t provide details about the circumstances surrounding his son’s passing.
The news of his son’s death has sparked an outpouring of condolences from fans and colleagues, who have taken to the comments section to offer words of comfort and sympathy.
This tragic event comes on the heels of other recent losses in the Nollywood community, including the passing of Peju Ogunmola’s only son, Ayomikun, who died after a brief illness in Ibadan.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Chatta has experienced such a loss.
In June, he revealed in an interview that his first child, a baby girl, died due to poverty and lack of medical care, which he couldn’t afford at the time.
Despite the grief, Chatta’s fans and colleagues are rallying around him, offering prayers and support during this difficult time.
