The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has cautioned Nigerians to disregard a fake recruitment advert currently circulating on social media.
In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Wednesday, the commission dismissed claims that it was hiring for various positions, describing the notice as fraudulent.

The misleading advert directs unsuspecting applicants to a fake website — inecrecruitment.com.com — to submit personal information.
“Our attention has been drawn to a fake advertorial currently circulating on social media, giving the impression that INEC is recruiting for various positions,” the statement read.

It further warned that the impostors behind the scheme created a fake portal, inecrecruitment.com, which has no affiliation with the commission.
INEC stressed that it is not conducting any recruitment exercise at the moment and urged the public not to fall victim to the scam.
“The commission hereby calls on the public to disregard this fraudulent call for applications. INEC IS NOT recruiting. Do not fall prey to the antics of criminal elements,” it added.
