Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Friday returned to the state, arriving at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, just two days after President Bola Tinubu lifted the state of emergency and ordered his reinstatement.
The governor’s aircraft touched down at exactly 11:50 a.m. and was received by a large crowd of political allies, loyalists, and supporters.

Among those present to welcome him were former Commissioner for Information and Communications, Barr. Emma Okah; former Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Oreh; former Nigerian Ambassador to the Netherlands, Oji Ngofa; former Commissioner for Environment, Sydney Gbara; and former factional Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Victor Oko-Jumbo.
Also in attendance were former Commissioner for Youths, Chisom Gbali; former Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Evans Bipi; former President of NUPENG, Igwe Achese; former Commissioner for Education, Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja; and former council chairmen, Ezebunwo Ichemati (Port Harcourt City) and Obio/Akpor, among others.

Fubara’s return marks his first appearance in the state since the presidential directive ended months of political uncertainty in Rivers.
