The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, will on Monday, September 29, 2025, administer the oath of office to 57 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs).
The swearing-in forms part of activities lined up to mark the 2025/2026 legal year of the Supreme Court. The event will take place at the apex court’s main courtroom in Abuja.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Supreme Court’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Festus Akande, confirmed the development.
He explained that, as tradition demands, the CJN will deliver a State-of-the-Judiciary Address during the special court session. The address will review the performance of the Supreme Court in the 2024/2025 legal year and provide insights into the general state of Nigeria’s judiciary.
Other key stakeholders in the justice sector are also expected to speak at the session, including the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, the Chairman of the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN), and the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
The programme will officially commence at 10 a.m.
