The Algerian army has killed six armed militants in a counter-terrorism operation in the region of Tebessa, the defence ministry reported on Wednesday.
The operation, which took place overnight on September 23, resulted in the recovery of six Kalashnikov-type assault rifles, a significant quantity of ammunition, and other military gear.
This incident is part of Algeria’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, a challenge the country has faced for decades, including during its “Black Decade” in the 1990s.
Algeria’s military has been engaged in various counter-terrorism initiatives, working closely with regional partners to dismantle extremist networks.
