The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed 11 new cases of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo since its last update on September 15.
According to the WHO, the outbreak in Kasai Province has shown a decreasing trend of cases in the recent week, with a total of 57 cases, including 10 probable cases and 35 deaths reported as of September 21.
The WHO notes that while the situation is improving, attention remains high to ensure the outbreak is brought under control.
Vaccination efforts are underway for contacts, possible contacts, and front-line workers, with over 500 health workers and close contacts of confirmed cases already inoculated.
The Congolese government, along with international health authorities, continues to work towards containing the outbreak.
