The Niger State Police Command has commenced enforcement of tinted glass permits in the state, with police officers stopping vehicles with tinted glasses at strategic points in the state capital to verify compliance with the law.

Commissioner of Police Adamu Elleman personally supervised the exercise, ensuring motorists abide by regulations guiding the use of tinted glasses.

According to Elleman, the enforcement aims to regulate indiscriminate use of tinted glasses, often exploited by criminals to conceal identities.

Vehicle owners without permits risk impoundment and prosecution under the Motor Vehicle (Prohibition of Tinted Glass) Act 2004.

Lawmaker Abu Adamu Gomna praised the police commissioner for enforcing the law fairly, noting increased compliance would reduce crime.
