The Nigeria Police Force has suspended the enforcement of vehicle tinted glass permits nationwide, following a court order halting the exercise.
The suspension was confirmed by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, who stated that the decision came after the police officially received the court order.
A Federal High Court in Warri, Delta State, had ordered the police to suspend enforcement, citing the need to respect judicial processes.
The court case was instituted by John Aikpokpo-Martins against the Inspector-General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force.
The police had introduced the tinted glass permit policy for security reasons, citing the use of vehicles with darkened windows in criminal activities.
