While there are no immediate reports of damage or casualties, experts are warning of potential volcanic activity in the region.

Ethiopia has experienced 29 earthquakes since the beginning of 2025, some stronger than 5.0 on the Richter scale, raising concerns about geological instability.

The Fentale area, one of Ethiopia’s most active volcanic hotspots, is being closely monitored after a series of earthquakes in the region sparked fears of a potential eruption.
