The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the nominees for the 2025 CAF Awards, honouring the continent’s best footballers, coaches, clubs, and national teams for their performances between January 6 and October 15, 2025.

According to CAF, the nominees were selected by a panel of experts comprising members of the CAF Technical and Development Committee, seasoned coaches, football legends, and media representatives, who shortlisted 10 contenders per category based on their impact in both local and international competitions.
Men’s Player of the Year
Cameroon’s Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa (Napoli) and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) lead the charge for the continent’s most prestigious individual prize. Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen, now at Galatasaray, also made the shortlist after another prolific season for club and country.

Other nominees include DR Congo’s Fiston Mayele (Pyramids), Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi (PSG), Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy (Borussia Dortmund), and Senegal’s Iliman Ndiaye (Everton).

Morocco’s Yassine Bounou (Al Hilal) headlines the list, joined by Nigeria’s Stanley Nwabali (Chippa United) and reigning champion Ronwen Williams (Mamelodi Sundowns).

Men’s Interclub Player of the Year
Egypt’s Pyramids FC and Morocco’s RS Berkane dominate the interclub category, reflecting their strong CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup campaigns.
Nominees include: Blati Touré (Burkina Faso/Pyramids), Issoufou Dayo (Burkina Faso/RS Berkane), Ismael Belkacemi (Algeria/USM Alger), Emam Ashour (Egypt/Al Ahly), and Mohamed Hrimat (Morocco/AS FAR).

Men’s Coach of the Year
Tactical excellence is celebrated in this category, featuring top African coaches such as Walid Regragui (Morocco), Bubista (Cape Verde), and Pape Thiaw (Senegal). Egypt’s Hossam Hassan and Pyramids’ Krunoslav Jurcic are also strong contenders.

The continent’s rising stars headline this category, including Asharaf Tapsoba (Burkina Faso/Real du Faso), Abdellah Ouazane (Morocco/Ajax), and Nigeria’s Daniel Bameyi (Primorje).

Men’s Club of the Year
Dominant club sides like Mamelodi Sundowns, Pyramids FC, and RS Berkane feature prominently. South Africa’s Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch, alongside Algeria’s CR Belouizdad, also make the shortlist.

The CAF Awards 2025 ceremony will honour the finest achievements in African football, with winners to be announced at a gala event later this year.
