He commended Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, for his collaboration with the Federal Government in maintaining peace and security within the state.

“Governor Idris has worked closely with the Federal Government through regular contacts and briefings on security developments in Kebbi. The Federal Government will continue to extend its hand of cooperation to ensure absolute security,” Tinubu stated.

The President cautioned against politicising security matters, urging stakeholders to focus on collective efforts to restore peace and stability.

“I am advocating the establishment of community-based peace committees to promote dialogue, resolve disputes, and strengthen local security strategies,” he said. “This initiative will help build trust, reduce tension, and promote peaceful coexistence.”

Tinubu also stressed the need to empower youths and women through education, economic support, and leadership training as part of long-term peacebuilding measures.

He highlighted the vital role of traditional rulers in fostering harmony and resolving conflicts, noting that their influence and authority can be instrumental in addressing regional security challenges.

“Traditional institutions possess the capacity to enhance peaceful conflict resolution, reduce tension, and promote unity. Their engagement is essential to our collective goal of ensuring national stability,” the President added.

In his remarks, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for recognizing the importance of traditional leaders in governance.

“As traditional rulers, our hopes are renewed under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu. We remain committed and loyal to supporting the government’s efforts to achieve lasting peace and progress,” the Sultan affirmed.
