The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has established an economic committee to drive economic revival and urban renewal in Ibadan.

The committee, inaugurated at the Olubadan Palace, comprises notable members, including Chief Onikepo Akande as Chairman and Prof Dapo Afolabi as Co-Chairman.

Other members include Dr Kazeem Sola Adeduntan, Chief Dotun Sanusi, and Pastor Dr Bayo Olugbemi.

The Olubadan expressed concern about the city’s economic decline, citing the closure of major industries like Leyland and Exide Battery.

He tasked the committee to explore ways to revive the economy and create employment opportunities for the youth.

The committee secretary, Chief Tajudeen Aremu, pledged to meet the Olubadan’s expectations and justify the confidence reposed in them.
