Cameroon’s opposition leader, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, has declared himself the winner of the October 12 presidential election and vowed not to accept a stolen vote.
Bakary, a former government minister, claimed his team compiled results from individual polling stations, showing he won with no doubt.
The ruling party has dismissed his claims, stating only the Constitutional Council can proclaim official results.
Bakary expressed confidence in his victory, saying, “There is no doubt, no shadow of doubt whatsoever.
My victory is undeniable.” He urged his supporters to defend their votes and warned against any attempts to steal the election.
The announcement of the official results, initially expected last week, has been delayed, fueling tensions and fears of post-electoral violence.
