Football fans in Nigeria are in for a thrilling spectacle today, Saturday, October 25, as Barça Legends take on a star-studded Africa Legends team at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. local time (4:00 p.m. in Barcelona).
The encounter marks Barça Legends’ second outing of the season, following their 3–2 victory over Monterrey Legends in Mexico earlier this year.
Barça’s squad, led by coach Albert Ferrer, includes several familiar faces from the club’s golden years — Jesús Angoy, Vítor Baia, Philippe Christanval, Juan Pablo Sorín, Ludovic Giuly, Gaizka Mendieta, Nolito, Jonatan Soriano, and Javier Saviola. Nigerian fans will be especially thrilled to see Samuel Okunowo and Haruna Babangida, both former Barça players, feature for the Catalan side.

Two players — Alex Song and Andreu Fontàs will make their Barça Legends debut in Abuja. Song, who previously played for Arsenal before joining Barcelona, spent two seasons at Camp Nou, while Fontàs, a La Masia graduate, had spells with Mallorca, Celta Vigo, and later played in the MLS with Sporting Kansas City before retiring earlier this year.
On the other side, the Africa Legends, coached by former Super Eagles manager Samson Siasia, boast an illustrious lineup of continental icons. Among those called up are Essam El Hadary, Victor Enyeama, Mark Fish, Taiye Taiwo, Elderson Echiejile, Didier Zokora, Jay-Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, Obafemi Martins, Victor Ikpeba, Julius Aghahowa, Emmanuel Adebayor, El Hadji Diouf, Salomon Kalou, and Daniel Amokachi.
With football greats from both sides of the world converging on Abuja, fans are set for a nostalgic evening of skill, flair, and entertainment as the legends light up the Nigerian capital once again.
