The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered a clandestine laboratory used for producing Colorado, a potent synthetic strain of cannabis, in a residential building at Ajao Estate in Lagos State.
The agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, revealed that the lab’s owner, 30-year-old Stephen Imoh, was arrested during a raid following months of surveillance and intelligence gathering.
The breakthrough came after NDLEA operatives intercepted multiple consignments of Colorado in March and May 2025, suggesting the substance was being locally produced.
Items recovered from the lab include 16.2kg of freshly cooked Colorado, 1.7kg of ADB-CHMNACA Cannabinol, 4.5kg of potassium carbonate, and 91 liters of dibromo butane, used in manufacturing synthetic cannabis.
In a separate operation, NDLEA operatives raided the hideout of a 28-year-old drug dealer, Afeez Salisu, in Mushin, Lagos, recovering 16 compressed blocks of Ghana loud and several designer sachets and bottles of Colorado weighing 16.4kg. The NDLEA continues to crack down on drug trafficking and production in the country.
