The Lagos State Police Command has declared activist Omoyele Sowore wanted for allegedly planning to incite public disorder and obstruct major roads in the state.
According to the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olohundare Jimoh, intelligence reports indicated plans by Sowore and his associates to stage demonstrations at strategic locations, including the Third Mainland Bridge, Lekki Tollgate, and Freedom Park.
The police chief warned that anyone attempting to cause disturbance or block roads would face the full weight of the law, urging Sowore to surrender at the nearest police station or face arrest.
The police have already arrested 13 suspects in connection with the planned protest and are working to identify sponsors and collaborators.
The command has deployed officers across key areas, including major bridges and highways, where roadblocks and diversions are in place. This move is part of efforts to maintain law and order and prevent disruptions to daily activities.
Sowore has been involved in previous confrontations with the police, including a viral video showing him confronting officers at a Lagos checkpoint.
The activist has expressed willingness to cooperate with the police, but tensions remain high.
