Muhammad Sama’ila Bagudo, the Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, has regained his freedom after being kidnapped on October 31, 2025.
The Kebbi State Police Command confirmed his release on Sunday, stating that he had received medical treatment and been reunited with his family.
The police commended the bravery and resilience of the combined security team involved in the search and rescue operation, as well as the people of Kebbi State for providing vital information that contributed to Bagudo’s safe return.
The Command vowed to continue its crackdown on banditry, kidnapping, and other violent crimes in the state.
Bagudo, 60, was abducted by gunmen who stormed his hometown in Bagudo Local Government Area, sparking widespread concern and a massive manhunt by security forces.
His release brings relief to his family and the community, following a tense period of uncertainty.
