The trial of former Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and seven others has been adjourned to February 3, 2026, by a Kano State High Court.
Ganduje, his wife Hafsat Umar, and other co-defendants are facing an 11-count chargeA filed by the Kano State Government, bordering on bribery, conspiracy, misappropriation, and diversion of public funds.
The prosecution cited unpreparedness and sought an extension of time, which was granted by Justice Amina Adamu-Aliyu.
The defence teams expressed readiness to proceed with the hearing, but the court adjourned the matter to allow the prosecution to respond to pending motions.
