Terrorists have launched a fresh attack on the Isanlu Makutu-Idofin highway in Kogi State’s Yagba East Local Government Area, leaving residents and travelers in fear.
The attackers struck on Saturday afternoon, causing people to flee for safety.
The exact number of abductees is still unknown, but local sources say the situation has heightened tension in nearby communities, with many residents staying indoors and travelers diverting routes.
Security agencies have been alerted, and operatives are mobilizing to the scene.
This incident follows a recent spate of attacks on Kogi highways, including a coordinated strike where 21 passengers were rescued, but two security personnel were killed.
The region has become increasingly vulnerable to armed gangs and kidnappings, fueling fear among local communities.
