A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja has adjourned the criminal defamation case against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to February 23, 2025.

The Office of the Attorney General of the Federation had requested an adjournment, which was granted despite opposition from the senator’s counsel, who argued that the prosecution failed to provide the required 48-hour notice.

Akpoti-Uduaghan is facing a three-count charge of criminal defamation over her allegations that Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello plotted to kill her.

Her counsel had filed a preliminary objection challenging the AGF’s decision to institute two similar cases against her, describing it as an abuse of court process.
