A Federal High Court in Abuja has barred Omoyele Sowore, a politician and online publisher, from making statements detrimental to the peace and security of Nigeria.
Justice Mohammed Umar warned that Sowore’s bail will be revoked if he makes such statements again.
Sowore was arraigned on a five-count charge for allegedly defaming President Bola Tinubu on social media, and he pleaded not guilty.
The court granted him bail on self-recognition, citing his presidential candidacy and the fact that his international passport is being held by the court.
