Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with his Lebanese counterpart Nawaf Salam in Beirut to discuss strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in economic cooperation, energy, industry, and transport.
The visit, which includes meetings with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and parliament speaker Nabih Berri, aims to expand cooperation in several sectors.
This comes after Lebanon and Egypt signed 15 agreements and memorandums of understanding in November, covering transport, economy, education, and agriculture.
The visit is set against a backdrop of international efforts to de-escalate tensions in southern Lebanon and prevent a wider confrontation with Israel.
