Ahead of their opening match in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, members of Nigeria’s Super Eagles (class of 2024) have formally received their national honours certificates, housing title documents in Abuja or Lagos, and land allocations in Abuja.
The rewards were promised by President Bola Tinubu following the team’s second-place finish at the 2023 AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire. The presentation ceremony took place on December 22, 2025, at the team hotel in Fez, Morocco.

The presentation was led by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko, alongside key officials including Senator Abdul Ningi, House Committee Chairman on Sports Kabiru Amadu, CG of Customs Bashir Adewale, NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, SSA to the President Nathan Mash, and Nigeria High Commission officials.

He further confirmed that all housing, land allocations, and national honours approved by the President have been processed, with allocation letters and certificates ready for collection. Cash awards equivalent to $100,000 USD, also approved by the President for the Super Eagles, Super Falcons, and D’Tigers, are being processed for direct payment to the players’ accounts through the offices of the Minister of Finance and the Accountant General of the Federation.
The ceremony highlighted the government’s commitment to rewarding excellence and national service, giving the Super Eagles a boost ahead of their AFCON 2025 campaign.
