Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, also known as KWAM1, has formally petitioned Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, alleging that the Fusengbuwa ruling house is actively trying to exclude him from the race to become the next Awujale of Ijebu land.
In a letter from his lawyer dated January 8, 2026, Ayinde contends that the ruling house is implementing rules, such as requiring candidates to appear before a screening committee and using a delegate system for nominations, which he claims are illegal and designed to disenfranchise him.
This move comes after the Ijebu Ode Local Government officially authorized the ruling house on January 6 to begin the selection process for the successor to the late Oba Sikiru Adetona.
The contest has attracted over 60 candidates, but the Fusengbuwa family has previously stated that Ayinde is not a member of their family and is therefore ineligible to run.
Ayinde had earlier taken the matter to court in an attempt to halt the process, but his application was dismissed for lacking merit, and he later withdrew the suit.
