Veteran journalist and former presidential candidate, Dele Momodu, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in a move aimed at promoting the collective interests of Nigerians.
Addressing his followers in Benin City, Edo State, Momodu emphasized that his decision is driven by a desire to serve the people, rather than personal ambition. “I just want to promote the best interests of our people,” he said, dismissing speculation about running for office.
Momodu, who recently left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), cited the party’s alleged takeover by “anti-democratic forces” as the reason for his departure.
His ADC membership marks a significant development in Nigeria’s opposition politics, as the party positions itself as a hub for reform-minded politicians ahead of the 2027 elections.
