A deadly ambush along the Ngoshe-Pulka Road in Borno State’s Gwoza Local Government Area has resulted in the deaths of five suspected Boko Haram terrorists and three local vigilantes.
The attack occurred at about 2:30 p.m. when armed insurgents ambushed members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and a local Hunters Group on routine patrol.
The gun battle that ensued led to the neutralization of five attackers, but three CJTF members – Yunusa Ali Ananicha, Adamu Zakari, and Daddy Ali – were fatally wounded. Their bodies were taken to Gwoza General Hospital and later released to their families for burial according to Islamic rites.
In response, troops of Operation HADIN KAI have heightened vigilance along the Ngoshe-Pulka corridor, with reinforced patrols to prevent further attacks and retaliatory strikes.
