Vice President Kashim Shettima has briefed President Bola Tinubu on Nigeria’s key engagements and gains at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, following what officials described as a successful outing.

The briefing took place shortly before President Tinubu departed Abuja for a state visit to Türkiye.

During the meeting, the Vice President outlined major outcomes from the Davos meetings, as well as next steps to advance Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms.
One of the major highlights was the commissioning of Nigeria House — the country’s first-ever sovereign pavilion on the Davos Promenade. The pavilion is designed as a permanent investment hub to showcase opportunities in solid minerals, agriculture and the digital economy.
At a high-level WEF session titled “When Food Becomes Security,” Shettima presented Nigeria’s new national food security framework, describing agriculture as a strategic pillar for national security and macroeconomic stability.
The Vice President also participated in discussions on the Accra Reset Initiative, a platform advocating African industrialisation driven by domestic capital, regional value chains and reduced dependence on foreign aid.
