Workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) on Tuesday staged a procession to the headquarters of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) following a ruling by the National Industrial Court ordering them to suspend their strike.
The workers, who appeared visibly disappointed with the court’s decision, said they were heading to Labour House to seek solidarity from organised labour, while vowing to continue pressing their demands.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Industrial Court directed the striking workers to return to work as negotiations between the FCTA and the leadership of the union continue.
However, the President of the union, Rifkatu Iorter, maintained that the strike action was in the best interest of FCTA staff.
Meanwhile, activities are gradually returning at the FCTA Secretariat as the gates have been reopened to workers and visitors. Some staff were seen entering the complex to resume official duties, although operations remained at a skeletal level.
