The Muslim World League (MWL) has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Woro town in Kwara State, Nigeria, which claimed over 170 lives and left many injured.

The attack, carried out by suspected Sahel-backed terrorists, was reportedly sparked by the villagers’ refusal to submit to ideological indoctrination.

In a statement, MWL Secretary-General Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa expressed solidarity with Nigeria and reaffirmed the organization’s rejection of terrorism and extremism. The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) also condemned the attack, describing it as “cowardly” and vowing to track down the perpetrator.

The international community has echoed the condemnation, with the African Union, Turkey, and the United Nations calling for justice and stronger cooperation to address insecurity.
