Vice-President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Kwara State to visit Woro village in Kaiama Local Government Area, following a deadly terrorist attack that killed at least 75 residents.
Shettima’s visit is on the directive of President Bola Tinubu to assess the situation and convey federal condolences to affected families.
The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, involved gunmen invading villages, opening fire on locals, and setting houses ablaze, forcing many to flee.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq blamed Islamic extremists for the massacre, describing it as an act of terrorism.
President Tinubu has condemned the killings, vowing that those responsible will be brought to justice.
The federal government has deployed troops to the affected communities to restore order and prevent further violence.
