The trial of 11 suspects accused of killing Arise News correspondent Somtochukwu Maduagwu and security guard Barnabas Danlami has been adjourned to April 21, 22, and 23 due to the absence of lead prosecutor Adama Musa, who was engaged in another case.
This marks the second delay in three days, raising concerns about the pace of prosecution.
The defendants, including Shamsu Hassan, have pleaded not guilty to a nine-count charge bordering on conspiracy, armed robbery, and murder.
The case stems from a violent robbery at Unique Apartments in Abuja on September 29, 2025, where Maduagwu and Danlami were killed.
Justice Mohammed Idris expressed hope that the prosecution would conclude its case within the scheduled dates, paving the way for judgment before the end of the year.
