Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has dissolved the state executive council, directing all commissioners and special advisers to hand over to permanent secretaries or the most senior officers in their respective ministries.
This move follows a recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, amidst heightened political tension in the state.
The dissolution is seen as a strategic effort by the governor to consolidate control and reposition his administration.
Five senior officials have been elevated to the rank of Permanent Secretaries, including Dr. Wachukwu Vincent Worgu, Eke Cordelia Uwuma, and Ogboma Ifeanyi Anthony.
The move has been linked to the ongoing impeachment saga against Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, which has sparked controversy and raised concerns about political instability in the state.
