The acting Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, arrived at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday to be formally decorated with his new rank, following the resignation of former IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
Disu was seen entering the presidential villa at about 3 p.m. His appointment comes after the Presidency confirmed Egbetokun’s exit on Tuesday.
President Bola Tinubu accepted Egbetokun’s resignation, which cited pressing family considerations, according to a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Details of the formal handover and decoration ceremony are expected to follow.
