The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the arraignment of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, to April 23, 2026.
El-Rufai is facing a three-count charge brought by the Department of State Services (DSS) over alleged wiretapping of the phone of the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu.
The arraignment was stalled as El-Rufai was not produced in court, reportedly due to being in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission.
The defence counsel requested an adjournment, while the prosecution asked to defer the bail request until El-Rufai is formally arraigned.
Justice Joyce Abdumalik ruled that the bail application was premature and adjourned the matter to April 23, 2026, for arraignment.
