President Bola Tinubu has decorated Tunji Disu as the Acting Inspector-General of Police, following the resignation of Kayode Egbetokun. The ceremony took place at the State House, Abuja, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
Disu, who previously served as Assistant Inspector-General in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos, pledged to lead with compassion, honesty, and integrity.
In his address, Disu urged police officers to surpass Nigerians’ expectations, citing the country’s security challenges.
He emphasized professionalism, modernism, and accountability, promising to fight for officers’ welfare and dignity.
Disu has over 30 years of experience, serving as Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and Abuja, and heading the Intelligence Response Team.
