A Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by Omoyele Sowore against the Department of State Services (DSS), Meta, and X Corp. to April 29.
Sowore challenges the alleged unconstitutional censorship of his social media accounts, including a post referring to President Bola Tinubu as a “criminal”.
Sowore’s counsel, Tope Temokun, argues the DSS has no authority to censor Nigerians on social media, and Meta and X must protect users’ rights.
The suit seeks declarations that the DSS’s actions are unlawful and that Sowore’s freedom of expression has been violated.
The court will hear the case on April 29, pending responses from the respondents.
