A helicopter crash in western Kenya’s Nandi County has claimed the lives of six people, including Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johana Ng’eno.

The incident occurred on Saturday, February 28, 2026, with the cause still unknown.

The helicopter, an Airbus Helicopters H125, crashed in Chepkiep, Mosop Sub-county, around 4:45 pm, bursting into flames and killing all on board.

President William Ruto expressed condolences, describing Ng’eno as a devoted servant of the people.
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula confirmed Ng’eno’s death, stating he was serving his third term and had chaired the Housing, Urban Planning, and Public Works Committee.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority has launched an investigation into the crash, with support from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Department.
