The 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) is reportedly set to be postponed to July, amid uncertainty over the original schedule.

The tournament was initially slated for March 17 to April 3 in Morocco, but organizational and preparatory concerns have cast doubt on whether it can begin as planned.
While the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has not yet issued an official statement, reports suggest the body has internally decided to reschedule the competition. Emerging details indicate the tournament may now take place from July 25 to August 16, shortly after the 2026 FIFA World Cup concludes on July 19.
CAF is expected to confirm the new dates officially soon.

The host nation’s status remains uncertain, with Morocco facing mounting pressure. On Wednesday, South Africa’s Sports Minister, Gayton McKenzie, stated that his country is ready to step in and host WAFCON if Morocco withdraws.
