A fire outbreak on Monday morning affected a section of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation building in Abuja.

Eyewitnesses said the fire was first noticed at about 8:20 a.m., with thick smoke seen rising from part of the structure.

The incident reportedly occurred in Section C of the complex, prompting staff members to quickly move away from the affected area while emergency responders were alerted to control the situation.

Officials from the media department of the Office of the Head of Service confirmed the incident, noting that the fire was limited to Section C of the building.

Emergency personnel were said to be working to contain the blaze, while the exact cause of the fire remains unknown.

Authorities said an investigation would begin after the situation is fully brought under control.
