A section of the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja caught fire on Monday morning, sending panic through the complex.
The fire, which started around 8:20 am, was limited to Section C of the building, according to the office’s media department.
Emergency responders were quickly alerted, and staff members were evacuated from the area.
Footage on social media showed thick black smoke billowing from the affected section.
“The fire outbreak is limited to Section C of the building and is currently being attended to by emergency officials,” the office said in a statement.
The cause of the fire was not disclosed at the time of reporting.
