President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated former SEC Director-General Lamido Abubakar Yuguda as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, pending Senate confirmation.
Yuguda brings decades of experience in banking regulation, international finance, and capital market administration to the role.
The nomination follows the appointment of former Deputy Governor Bala Bello as Special Adviser to the President on Political Economy.
Tinubu urged Yuguda to prioritize economic stability and growth if confirmed.
A seasoned financial professional, Yuguda has served as SEC Director-General, IMF economist, and CBN Director of Reserve Management.
