Nigerian forwards Paul Onuachu and Victor Osimhen were both on target on Saturday, continuing their remarkable seasons in the Turkish Super Lig.
Onuachu scored for Trabzonspor in a 1-0 win over Caykur Rizespor, marking his 10th consecutive game with a goal across all competitions. His strike, six minutes into the second half, came from close range following a precise cut-back from Oleksandr Zubkov.

The 31-year-old striker extended his league scoring streak to eight matches, becoming the first Trabzonspor player to achieve the feat since Burak Yilmaz in 2011. Including cup matches, Onuachu has scored 12 goals in this 10-game run, taking his season total to 23 goals and two assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.

He also leads the Super Lig scoring charts with 21 league goals, five clear of second-placed Eldor Shomurodov of Istanbul Basaksehir. Onuachu is closing in on another record, needing just five more league goals to surpass Shota Arveladze’s 1995/96 record of 25 league goals in a single season for Trabzonspor.
Meanwhile, Osimhen delivered another commanding performance as Galatasaray thrashed Istanbul Basaksehir 3-0 at RAMS Park, extending their lead at the top of the league to seven points ahead of Fenerbahce’s game on Sunday.

Osimhen played a key role in the opener, making a clever decoy run in the 28th minute that drew two Basaksehir defenders out of position, allowing Noa Lang to set up Wilfred Singo for the opening goal. He doubled Galatasaray’s lead seven minutes into the second half and was involved in several attacking moves before being substituted to keep him fresh for Wednesday’s Champions League second-leg clash against Liverpool at Anfield. Renato Nhaga completed the 3-0 victory in the 84th minute.

Osimhen’s goal brought his Super Lig tally to 12 for the season, with 19 across all competitions, and marked his 170th career club goal in 293 appearances spanning stints at Royal Charleroi, Lille, Napoli, and Galatasaray.
Galatasaray will travel to Anfield holding a 1-0 first-leg advantage, needing only a draw to secure a place in the Champions League quarter-finals.
