Nigerian filmmaker Wale Adenuga has denied allegations by veteran actor Abiodun Ayoyinka, popularly known as Papa Ajasco, that he is struggling financially despite his decades-long involvement in the popular television series, Papa Ajasco and Company.
Adenuga, CEO of Wale Adenuga Productions, described Ayoyinka’s claims as “inaccurate and misleading,” stating that his production company has supported the actor over the years, including providing vehicles and opportunities.
Adenuga questioned the basis of Ayoyinka’s financial claims, pointing to his 30-year civil service career and retirement benefits.
He also highlighted that other cast members, such as Pa James and Mama Ajasco, regularly feature in other productions without interference from the company.
The controversy began when Ayoyinka’s remarks about his financial struggles circulated on social media, sparking concern among fans of the show.
Adenuga attributed Ayoyinka’s actions to a “money-making strategy using social media,” emphasizing that there is no serious fallout between them.
