Gunmen have abducted Sunday Ani, a 47-year-old driver with the Federal Ministry of Health, from his residence in Abuja’s Grow Homes Estate.
The incident occurred around 2am on March 29, with Ani’s whereabouts still unknown.
Authorities have not received any ransom demands, and security agencies are yet to issue an official statement.
The abduction highlights Nigeria’s ongoing insecurity issues, with kidnappings and ransom demands becoming increasingly common. In 2024-2025, Nigerians paid N2.57 billion in ransoms, with abductors demanding N48 billion.
