Increased security surrounded Sanusi as he left the Obi Wali International Conference Centre, preventing journalists from speaking with him.

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, congratulated Sanusi II on his reinstatement as the 14th Emir of Kano. In a statement issued in Port Harcourt, Fubara expressed excitement over the news, particularly as Sanusi was in the state contributing to economic discussions.

Fubara remarked that the reinstatement by the Kano State government rectified the unjust dethronement of Sanusi on March 9, 2020, reflecting the wishes of the Kano people. He praised the government for heeding public sentiment and correcting past wrongs, urging residents to support the Emir.

The governor also called on Sanusi, the spiritual leader of the Tijanniyah Sufi order in Nigeria, to lead with love, wisdom, and courage, promoting peace, justice, and fairness in Kano. He wished the Emir a successful and prosperous reign.
